Literally.
It was the best concert in the whole wide world.
Imagine. I'm sitting in a blue-lit theatre. The lights go out. It's completely dark. Suddenly, the lights come up and KABLAM! Weird Al Yankovic - with his trusty accordion - are right in front of my face, (and I do mean RIGHT IN FRONT of my FACE. Second row, BABY! We saw spit flying, man.) I'm staring up at one of my greatest heroes. It was surreal. And the crazy 2 and a half hour concert was full of the nutzo Al we all love and some ridiculous costume changes that made the show totally epic - No. BEYOND Epic.
I loved being able to see in his face how much he loved doing what he was doing.
Oh, heehee by the way, the line in Wanna B Ur Lovr that says "I'll bet you're magically delicious, like a bowl of Lucky Charms," is my line. He sang that one to me! I was totally flabbergasted. I was beaming from ear to ear - I think I may have actually floated.
And Al is the nicest person I've ever met.
When we told him that it was my first concert, he said "Really?! Well, I'm honored! Thank you for coming!"
And I said, with maybe just a tad too much cheesy-ness, "Thanks for being so AWESOME."
(I told you...I think I floated. I'll be on my own personal Al-cloud until I'm 27. Teehee, 27. Al fans will get that reference.)
I took the portraits that I've drawn of him. He signed them without hesitation, and said that he loved them! I gave him a copy of my Digital "Weird Al" Yankovic portrait, which can be found in my dA gallery, and he accepted it with a huge grin and a "Thank you SO much!"
We also met Steve Jay - also a really nice guy! Steve must have stood outside for an hour and a half or so, chatting.
They genuinely love what they're doing, and it seems that they couldn't be happier to spend time with the fans.
You might not have a lot of time to chat, but the time you do have with Al, you have his undivided attention.
If you can go to a Weird Al concert, I highly suggest going. It's well worth it, even if you're not the biggest fan out there (Nana and Papaw weren't die-hard fanatics like me, but I think the experience changed their minds!)
Thanks Al! You're the BEST!
(Ps. I'm sorry if it comes off that I'm bragging, stuck-up, selfish or anything like that. I'm just really excited.)

So...
...I've been busy this summer. I've had tons of commissions - anything from portraits to murals, and everything in between...I even painted a set of double stairs at an elementary school to look like a stack of books! My Official Artwork Facebook page, "Artwork by Hannah P. Litaker," has grown a lot - check it out! It gets updated a lot more often than my gallery here. [www.facebook.com/litakerhp]
I'm currently working on yet more commissions, and I'm booked for the next two months!
In a week, I return to college once more - and ONLY once more. I'm a senior! In college! Where did the time go?! I'm so close to my Drawing degree, I can taste
Holy Cow!
The TARDIS Butterfly work I recently uploaded has been a huge hit in no time. It got flooded with favourites on the first day.
This is the first time that I've had to step back from coming on everyone's profile and giving a personal thank you because I got way too many at once!
I know that hardly any of the people that favourited it in the first wave of love it received will actually read this, but I just feel a lot better getting it out there. I'm sorry I didn't have the time to come to each and every one of you personally and say thank you.
The love really means a lot - a lot more than it meant when I was just a silly young person who wa

Quick Summer and Life Updates
Half way to getting my Art Degree - Starting third year of college in August. Time flies!
I got a new insulin pump! WOO! I'm still SUPER MAGIC BIONIC PANCREAS WOMAN.
Second "Weird Al" concert in April was AMAZING. Did we expect any less? Nope.
Saw Al during his book signing tour for "My New Teacher and Me!" Also amazing. Gave him this!

Glad you had a great time and got to meet Al. I used to listen to his music, but then I got out of touch!
